MAKING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR ICCD LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

A pre-conference check list for individuals, teams, and college leaders.

Research based on the experiences of past participants in ICCD's programs indicates that setting specific goals in advance enhances the benefits of attendance. To make the most out of your ICCD leadership program, we suggest that you review the agenda and use the check list below to formulate your goals. What do you hope to achieve and with whom would you like to connect? What is your strategy for applying what you learn and sharing it with others on campus? Be as specific as possible. If you are coming as part of a team, it helps to divide the responsibilities during and after the program.

We look forward to seeing you.

Networking goals

  •  To learn best practices from other attendees…e.g. what works and what doesn't
  • To identify colleagues with whom information can be shared after the conference
  • To identify colleagues who might collaborate on further inquiry or projects
  • To gain targeted information from the speakers
  • To identify individuals who might be consultants for a campus initiative

Action goals

  • To share potential applications at a department/division/campus meeting
  • To write a proposal for a new course/program/activity
  • To initiate dialog across campus on one or more of the program's topics
  • To pursue further opportunities for professional development in this area
  • To identify a topic for further research
