About Us

The Institute for Community College Development provides leadership programming and research support for community college CEOs, administrators, faculty and trustees nation-wide. ICCD was founded as a partnership between the State University of New York and Cornell University to address the critical issue of leadership succession. Housed in Cornell's ILR School, Extension Division, ICCD offers a comprehensive program assessing leadership ability at the personal and organizational level, and targeted educational opportunities that develop those skills through programs at Cornell, on community college campuses around the country, and online learning.
The Institute also supports the analysis of educational, social, political, and economic issues of particular importance and concern to community colleges and their peer institutions by conducting high quality and timely research and by communicating the conclusions and policy implications of this research through consulting and outreach services.
